Garbage Disposal Clogged? No Problem!

Vicks Humidifiers are becoming more popular as a way to treat asthma. During cold months many people suffer from asthma due to an increased dryness that invades the house through doors and windows. Air Humidifiers, that are kept correctly, make sure that the air that you breathe is optimally clean. Asthma patients are affected by irritants such as pets, dry air, mold, chemicals, smoke, cleaning agents, foods, and much more.

The first step is to set up the humidifier. Take the Vicks Humidifier out of the box and inspect if there are any damages. Examine the water reservoir well and check if there are any cracks. Never use the humidifier if there are any damages observed. Keep the humidifier on a flat surface and make sure that it is located where wires can be tucked safely out of sight to prevent people from tripping over them. It should be placed far from walls and furniture. Ensure that the directional mist nozzle will not point directly to the walls, furniture, or people who will use the humidifier.

No matter what kind of garbage disposal you have, how you use it has more to do with how well it works than what brand or model it is. Even the best garbage disposal clogs up sometimes, especially if it gets a lot of heavy use.

You can prevent your garbage disposal from getting clogged by ensuring that you first flood the unit completely with water. Then turn it on. This will ensure that even the small pieces of food are sucked in along with the water. They will not stick to the walls of the disposal. Also, occasionally flood the disposal with warm water without any food. This suction action of the water will dislodged any stuck pieces of food and grease.

A slow drain may be a sign of a clog. Do not use a chemical drain cleaner to unclog the mess as that may cause damage. Place a bucket under the drain and then loosen the trap. Locate the clog and remove it. If you cannot find a clog, it may be in the drain pipe and a snake or auger is necessary to remove it.

Once you have purchased your replacement disposal, you will find most disposals will come with instructions. If a special wrench is needed for installing the disposal, it will generally be in the packaging. You will find in most cases, a wrench will be included that will allow you to manually turn the disposal if it becomes jammed. Don't throw this wrench away as you may need it in the future to fix the disposal.
