Making Video The Most Important Ingredient In Your Mobile Mix

by Stephane Kolinsky

By making video the prime ingredient in your local and mobile marketing mix you save time and money and also have a shot a communicating more successfully to your customers.

I think I'll definitely give it a go. With my Android phone in my pocket there's little to prevent me from capturing video on the fly putting on my internet site, my mobile site, on you-tube or on twitter through a programme like TwitVid.

Video, video everywhere but what's best to film and share?

Software like Prezi or PowerPoint are great for communicating your experience and service benefits if you don't like getting behind a camera but ensure it looks, sounds and feels great. You still have to capture your audience even though it is a low budget production!

Simply because you won't like getting in front of the camera doesn't mean that folks do not wish to see you giving it a go! It takes a lot of heart to stand there and let yourself be filmed. Quite terrifying even but here's the pay-off, people do not just read what you're about, they can see you and hear you which is a much more significant in terms of communication.

By being on camera yourself you can communicate with your possible customers in a fashion that is way more valuable to them, in a way that helps them make a judgement call on whether or not you are the person who they want to do business with.

The thing I try to encourage my clients to do though is to make the most of video to add an additional dimension to testimonials. It's OK to have a written testimonial; it is better to have a testimonial with a photo of you and your customer. The best thing by a long way though is filming a testimonial or even supplementing a written with a video endorsement.

Once it is in your smart phone it is straightforward to upload it to twitter or your site through your phone's wireless connection.

There you have it, one or two suggestions on making video a central part of your mobile marketing mix!
